Description

We’re an agile and fast-growing medical device startup developing an implantable Tricuspid Valve Repair System. As we scale, we’re looking for a driven and hands-on Supply Chain & Procurement team member to take ownership of our end-to-end supply chain operations—from purchasing and inventory control to supplier management and logistics.

This is a hybrid role that blends strategic sourcing, day-to-day procurement, and supply chain management with lots of potential for future growth.

Procurement & Sourcing

  • Own all purchasing activities; raw materials, components, equipment, etc.
  • Identify qualified suppliers, request quotations, negotiate pricing for products/services and place purchase orders as required.
  • Maintain positive supplier relationships.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels across warehouse and production.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to forecast material needs.
  • Track purchase order due dates as well as incoming and outgoing inventory.

Supplier & Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between suppliers, the engineering team, and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee the receiving issues with internal partners as well as with suppliers to avoid incoming inspection failures/holds. Well written correspondence/communication to suppliers to problem solve document/product issues.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with engineering team and critical suppliers, maintain supplier build plan, deliveries and provide purchase orders as needed.
  • Resolve supply issues, delays, or quality concerns quickly and effectively.

Logistics & Fulfillment

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with freight carriers.
  • Help manage shipping schedules, customs documentation, and delivery timelines.
  • Support on-time delivery of materials to meet production and clinical needs.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve lead times, and streamline supply chain operations.
  • Support implementation of systems and tools to scale procurement and logistics.

Skills

  • Comfortable owning both strategic sourcing and day-to-day purchasing tasks.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; able to collaborate across engineering, operations, and leadership.
  • Understanding of basics specifications and drawings with ability to communicate important requirements with suppliers preferred.
  • Ability to research/source and then recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management systems or ERP tools.
  • Self-starter attitude with the ability to prioritize in a fast-changing environment.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience/certification.
  • 5+ years’ experience in purchasing/supplier management.
  • Experience working for a medical device company is preferred.
  • Medical device manufacturing/good manufacturing practices as it relates to materials preferred.
