Description
Versa Vascular is an innovative medical device startup developing next-generation implantable solutions for the treatment of tricuspid heart valve disease. Our mission is to improve patient outcomes through precision engineering, rigorous quality standards, and collaborative innovation. We are seeking a skilled Sewing Technician to join our growing team and play a critical role in the fabrication of implantable cardiac devices. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a team and understands the importance of craftsmanship, consistency, and compliance when working on life-sustaining medical technologies.
- Sewing technicians are required to execute prescribed hand-sewing techniques such as running stitch, whip stitch and over hand knots in the process of building heart valve repair implants.
- Hand sewing techniques are to be performed under a microscope and inside a clean room.
- Build activities are to be recorded and documented.
- Application of technical ability, fine motor skills, and attention to detail is necessary.
- Agile, and able to perform different tasks throughout the day as priorities change.
- Use of Google suite, Microsoft365 and comparable computer systems may be used.
- Previous experience working with medical device assembly is welcomed but not necessary.
- This position is 100% on-site, located in our Santa Cruz, CA. facility.
Skills
- Familiarity with a variety of hand sewing tools such as suture, straight and swaged needles, needle holders, scissors and microscopes.
- Being open to training is a must- Eager to learn with good communication skills. We’re looking for candidates with a positive attitude who are honest with their skills and abilities.
- Precise adherence and comprehension to written manufacturing process instructions (MPI’s) through the understanding of written and picture instructions.
- Capable communicator able to carry out activities described in written instructions.
- Ability to work a full shift using a microscope inside a clean room.
- Detail oriented, and able to transcribe written information to production documentation.
- Previous experience working within a Quality System for the production of medical devices will set you apart from the field!

- Competent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent manual sewing skills.
- Competent in working using a microscope
- Ability to sit for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks.
- Team player-honest, hardworking, dependable.
